SkB is a Seattle based design firm with an established reputation for innovative and strategic thinking. We have a need for a Designer to join the firm’s studio in downtown Seattle.  The firm practices in numerous project types including workplace, commercial, retail, hospitality, residential, and product design.  The firm rewards an entrepreneurial spirit, a collaborative attitude, and a business-minded perspective.    

Qualitative - General Firm Expectations:

Quantitative - “Ideal” candidate should demonstrate the following skill set / knowledge base:

  • Active participation in all phases of the design process

  • Assist in creating design concepts

  • Produce presentation level materials in multiple mediums

  • Participate in the full design process – such as supporting the research and selection of materials,

    finishes, furniture, lighting

  • Participate in the development and production of plans, elevations, and details in Construction Drawing Sets

  • Participate in CA, attending job sites, answering RFIs and reviewing submittals

  • Other responsibilities as assigned by project management and design teams.

Candidate Qualifications:

  • B.S. or B.A. in Architecture

  • 0-2 years experience in designing and assisting with multiple projects

  • Strong graphic and presentation skills

  • Excellent design sensibility and a strong portfolio

  • Able to handle multiple responsibilities and thrive in a fast paced environment

  • Detailed, process –oriented, extremely organized, with the ability to manage one’s own time

  • Strong problem solving skills and ability to graphically communicate ideas

  • Strong ability to communicate in a team

  • Creative design skills, with some knowledge of finish materials, applications and construction detailing

    Software Expertise

    o Proficiency in Revit, Sketchup, Adobe Creative Suite, particularly InDesign and Photoshop, and Auto‐CAD is preferred

    o General knowledge and ability to use Microsoft Office is preferable
