Marketing / Project Coordinator

We have a need need for a Marketing / Project Coordinator to join the firm’s office in downtown Seattle. The firm practices in numerous project types including workplace, commercial, retail, hospitality, residential, and product design.  The firm rewards an entrepreneurial spirit, a collaborative attitude, and a business-minded perspective. 


The Marketing / Project Coordinator will work collaboratively with the SkB principals, project teams and the Director of Business Strategy & Communications. This role will be split between Marketing and Project Coordinator duties. The successful candidate will assist in the development of proposals, interview materials and client facing collateral, as well as assist in marketing communications initiatives such as media relations, social media, website, and award submissions.  On the project coordination side, duties will include a variety of complex project administration, technical, and accounting related tasks. The ideal candidate will have experience working in construction management, architecture, real estate development and /or a related field. This is a full-time position.

Marketing Responsibilities Include:

  • Composing RFP and RFQ responses in line with SkB creative standards for graphic and written quality

  • Copyediting and proofreading RFPs and RFQs for spelling, grammar, style, consistency and appropriate content.

  • Assists in development of award submission strategy aligned with budget and market-sector specific plans.

  • Assists with media placements and speaking opportunities that support the studio’s reputation for creative thought-leadership

  • Writes and edits press releases, thought leadership / website content, project overviews, submissions for conferences and awards and other special projects.

  • Assists with social media communications strategy, content development, calendar and execution.

  • Identifies new communication channels when relevant; keeps up to date with industry trends.

  • Clearly develops, maintains and communicates SkB’s brand.

  • Assists in coordination and development of 1-2 unique annual events – parties, salons, forums, etc.

Project Related Responsibilities Include:

  • Serves as a lead for project administrative activities

    Performs duties for project start up and phases, including letters of agreements, letters of proposals, AIA contracts, project file set up (electronic and hard files), AIA sub agreements, contract amendments, additional service request, etc.

  • Provides direct support to project managers for project contracts and financials as well as billing and monthly progress reports

    Acts as the client point of contact regarding contract and invoicing inquiries

  • May assist with formatting notes through SD, DD, CD phases using the standard generic forms found in the project file

  • Coordinates document delivery activities including graphics, editing, word processing, QA/QC procedures and production\

  • May assist during bidding, construction and close-out phases of a project with AIA amendments, change orders, RFI logs, AIA substantial completion forms to produce the deliverables required

  • Schedule project-related appointments and coordinates meetings

  • Manage scheduling, production and delivery of materials

  • Performs some accounting-related functions (invoicing; consultant AP/AR, etc.);

  • Gathers, compiles and maintains data and/or filing systems, including digital project and marketing folders

Desired Background

  • Bachelor's degree or 5-7 years' related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience

  • Previous experience in the A/E/C or greater design industry strongly preferred

  • Expert Proficiency in MS Office, Adobe Creative Suite (specifically InDesign and Photoshop)

  • Proficiency with Sketchup, AutoCad and Revit

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple deadlines in a fast pace, dynamic environment

  • Excellent written and verbal skills with razor-sharp accuracy and thoroughness in completing all tasks

  • General understanding of accounting principles, practices and processes

  • Ability to create and develop compelling written and visual stories including storyboard presentation and design concepts

  • Ability to provide creative input and suggest different ways to communicate marketing messages

  • Ability to work autonomously, with minimal supervision, manage your time responsibly and be accountable for meeting project deadlines

  • Strong organizational skills

  • Passionate about design, communication, and client service

  • Discreet, tactful, emotionally intelligent with highly collaborative interpersonal skills

  • Interest in or experience with Business Development a plus
