Kyle Gaffney, Founding Partner

SkB Architects founding partner Kyle Gaffney served as a board member on the Red Feather Development Group’s Board of Directors, partnering with the Native community to provide lasting change through sustainable housing.

As a member of the Board of Directors for Red Feather Development Group, Gaffney brings his experience as an architect and practitioner to an organization focused on sustainable housing and community development in Native American communities. The role extends beyond professional expertise, creating an opportunity to support work shaped by the needs, priorities, and knowledge of the communities Red Feather serves.

As a board member, Gaffney contributes to the conversations that help guide the organization’s work, bringing an architectural perspective alongside the experience of fellow directors in law, finance, business, tribal leadership, and the arts. The board’s role is not to design the answer from a distance, but to provide perspective, ask questions, and help strengthen the organization’s ability to advance its mission.

That exchange reflects a broader belief in the value of collaboration. Red Feather’s work depends on listening closely to communities, understanding the context in which housing is created, and bringing together different forms of knowledge and expertise. For Gaffney, serving on the board extended the practice of architecture into a larger conversation about how design can contribute to healthy, sustainable, and lasting communities.
