Rocky Pond Chelan

The vineyard is miles away, but traces of it are all over the room. At Rocky Pond Tasting Room in downtown Chelan, vineyard soil and vines appear alongside whitewashed pine, oak, and natural fir, bringing the agricultural life behind the wine into the place where it is poured. A 40 foot pewter topped bar anchors the tasting experience, giving people a place to gather while the materials around them keep the winery’s origins close at hand.

The 40-foot tasting bar anchors the Rocky Pond interior, pairing a pewter surface with pale wood millwork, leather seating and a large-scale vineyard map.

Open wine display and service storage are integrated behind the tasting bar, framed by pale wood shelving and dark brickwork.

The pewter bar top incorporates a linear inlay details.

Vineyard displays incorporate soil, vines and wine storage into the tasting room interior, connecting the retail environment directly to Rocky Pond’s viticultural program.

A private tasting room is separated from the main circulation zone by glazed partitions, with a communal table supporting seated wine tastings and small-group events.

Operable storefront glazing extends the Chelan tasting room toward the sidewalk, providing an outdoor counter directly connected to the interior.

A vineyard display combines an exposed vine and soil profile with adjacent bottle storage, treating agricultural material as part of the wine retail environment.

Lounge seating and the private tasting room occupy a quieter zone beyond the main bar, expanding the tasting room program beyond counter service.

The long tasting bar organizes the primary public space, with wine display, lounge seating and the vineyard artwork arranged along its length.
