SkB Architects Featured on “America ByDesign” Film
SkB Architects was selected by the producers of America ByDesign: Architecture for its transformation of U.S. Bank Center in downtown Seattle, bringing the firm’s approach to repositioning an existing commercial building to a national television audience.
Featured in Season 6, Episode 1, the segment examines the rethinking of U.S. Bank Center and the role architecture can play in extending the relevance of an existing downtown property. The project transformed the tower’s relationship with the city through a new public facing base, retail, hospitality, workplace amenities, and spaces designed to bring more activity to the building throughout the day.
America ByDesign: Architecture presents architecture and design from across the United States through a national television series. The SkB Architects feature appeared online, on CBS channels, and through AIA media channels.
The selection puts a larger question behind U.S. Bank Center in front of a national audience: what can an existing commercial building become when its value is reconsidered beyond the office floors themselves?
