19 Acres Masterplan

Nineteen acres is large enough to change how a piece of a city works. SkB Architects studied housing, retail, public space, circulation, and landscape as one development, with density, infrastructure, and phasing considered alongside what people would encounter on the ground.

Gardens and planted spaces organize movement through the district, creating places to arrive, gather, and stay between buildings rather than leaving public life to whatever space remains. The ambition is to use the scale of development to give the area more of what makes a city worth returning to: homes, businesses, landscape, and public life within reach of one another.

19 Acres

247,000 SF Mixed Use: Retail, Commercial, Residential

19 Acres masterplan explores a flexible mix of retail, hospitality, residential, workplace, recreation, and community uses organized around landscape and public space, creating a framework that can respond to changing market conditions over time.

Existing buildings are reimagined around a garden courtyard where dining, gathering, landscape, and circulation come together, demonstrating how adaptive reuse can create new value while preserving the character and familiarity of the site.

The area’s horticultural legacy becomes part of the public experience, with nursery and greenhouse spaces integrated into a walkable network of gardens, retail, dining, and gathering places that gives the mixed use development a distinct identity.

Retail, food and beverage, events, and culinary programming are brought together around an active marketplace, creating multiple reasons to visit and extending activity throughout the day and evening.

The masterplan organizes residential, hospitality, retail, dining, recreation, and the 19 Acres’ nursery around a connected public realm, using landscape and experience planning to turn a complex development program into a cohesive district.
