Home starts before the apartment door. It begins when someone arrives, moves through the building, passes a neighbor, finds somewhere to work or gather, and finally turns the key.

Our work in urban infill, mixed use communities, residential renovations, and amenity spaces has taught SkB Architects how much those in between moments matter. In denser settings, shared kitchens, lounges, work areas, terraces, and quieter places can make room for more ways to live. We pay just as much attention to a corridor, a room number, or the light outside someone’s door. Together, those decisions can make compact living feel generous and give residents a stronger sense that the building belongs to them.
